Exercise 18:

Use at least one image for each of the five senses, either in succession or scattered randomly  throughout the poem.

Cattleya Orchid

Petals
like starched velvet to the finger
softness explored, firm yet yielding.

Colour
explosion, of fuschia on cream
with flecks of yellow that beckon.

Spicy
fruit punch emanates from the bud
and recent rain lingers in the air.

Buzzing
Cicadas in the distance and
bees hovering, waiting to feast.

Nectar
an oily residue sweeter than honey
and bursting with floral flavours.
